This cup doesn't look very out of place here in the grass surrounded by cigarette butts. A rich, creamy chocolate frosty finished and discarded, no thought in the world. No contemplation or consideration from the person who once enjoyed what was delivered in the plastic cup, and, seemingly no reflection from any passerby. Usually a cup like this spends it's days in the wild blowing from location to location completely unbothered by any.
Unfortunately, that was not the fate of this cup...
This is a picture of that very same rich in quality frosty cup that we met earlier. But wait! Is that...? Yes, it is a squirrel with its head stuck in an ironically smiling desert cup. I saw this today and even though the onlookers laughed as he jumped frantically in the air and Wendy's face maintained it's freckled smile, the squirrel was in a desperate and terrifying battle for his life. After he leaped into the overgrown brush at the edge of the clearing people decided that the show was over and went on with the rest of their day, off to tell the story of the crazy squirrel with an odd looking hat.
Sadly, I am not shocked by what happened and I doubt that you are either. I am not angry or bitter about witnessing this and what it means for our society. I only feel sad for those that do not deem it worth their time to help another because it is one of the greatest things we can do in our day to day lives.
As for the squirrel, I can joyfully assure you that this was not his last adventure.
