Red-and-Green Macaws, likely a monogamous breeding pair, spending some time preening in a tree. I spotted these beautiful rainbows while visiting a small watering hole in the Pantanal region of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil during the dry season. The dwindling body of water laying beneath the sweltering sun was a magnet for thirsty animals. Besides the pair above, I enjoyed the company of a
coati, a perturbed mother bison and her calf, and a
tuiuiu (the state bird that stands almost as tall as you).
